This morning I signed the papers to get the loan to buy my new car (pics later). I left the church on my way to a meeting just waiting for the phone call from the bank to go sign the papers. That call came just as I left so instead of going to my meeting I went to my bank (not the place of my loan) to get a cashiers check. I got there….shoot, no wallet. So I had to drive back to church and get my wallet. By this time I was 10 minutes later than my schedule allowed for all of this. So I hurried back to my bank to get the check, had everything I needed already in one hand, drove to the parking lot, rushed out of the car and locked the door (manually). Inside I waited patiently for a spot to open up and then proceeded to do a myriad of things including get a check as to make the people behind me wait an inordinate amount of time.
Then I rush out the door to get back in to the car and meet SB at the loan place and … you’ve got to be kidding me. I locked my keys in my car. I was in such a rush I forgot to grab my keys. Dang it. Of all times to lock my keys in the car, right then when I was supposed to be with SB at the other bank to sign the papers was not the best time. Especially since SB has tons of stuff to do as he is moving overseas tomorrow.
So what do I do, the only thing I can do (without causing damage). I call Teresa. Luckily for me she was taking half a day off to spend with SB’s wife. So I called her and said “Could you please bring me my keys, I have locked myself out of my car………………….again.” Then I heard this noise. At first I just ignored it. Then I wondered where it was coming from. “Is that my car?” I thought to myself. So I lean down to my hood and listen….wait….that sound is coming from my car. What the….??!!?? I look inside and sure enough….I left the car running. So not only did I lock myself out, I locked myself out without actually turning my car OFF!!! So it was sort of overheating. AAAHHHH.
All of this happened while I was on the phone with Teresa so she got to hear all my thought process and figuring that out. So she promptly brought me my keys. And by promptly I mean she was 19 miles away at school so it took 30 minutes. So I waited outside the bank by my RUNNING car in the cold for 30 minutes while SB signed his part of the car buying papers.
That my friends is why I’m an idiot. Well, it was at least the biggest reason from today. ;)

That is hilarious, Cliff. Did the running car at least shelter you from the cold? :)
